Welcome to Long Hill United Methodist Church (LHUMC)! We are a church with roots that go deep into the very soil of the Long Hill section of Trumbull. The stones that make up the foundation and wall of our Sanctuary were brought by parishioners from their nearby fields and pastures in the late 1800s. |
|
We have, however, kept up with the times. The Sanctuary has recently been renovated, giving us flexibility for a variety of styles of worship. It has also allowed for an ever expanding music program. There is an 18+ member choir that provides weekly music for Sunday morning worship. Plus, monthly concerts are offered featuring outstanding musicians from the surrounding community. With the professional leadership of our Director of Music, Lynn Scully and our Julliard-trained organist/pianist Ron Giannattasio, the musical offerings at LHUMC are exceptional. We as a congregation have dedicated ourselves to Bible Study, prayer and worship. A weeknight discipleship Bible Study class has begun under lay leadership, a second Bible Study entitled Jesus and the Gospels was established and a 12-member confirmation class was held and taught by the Pastor with lay leadership as well. Lenten and Advent Bible Studies have also been held. At LHUMC, we believe that we have A STORY WORTH TELLING, A MESSAGE WORTH HEARING and that we are A CHURCH WORTH ATTENDING. This emphasis on Worship, Bible Study and prayer is our first and primary foundation. We believe the message of our Savior Jesus Christ is heard best when we reach out to respond to the needs of the greater community and God’s entire family. Please explore the other pages of our web site that explain in greater detail all that happens here at LHUMC. Please feel invited to worship with us any Sunday morning at 10:00 AM. Also, I invite you to contact me personally by phone (203) 268-9090 or by email at office@longhillumc.com. Long Hill United Methodist Church has: A Story Worth Telling A Message Worth Hearing And we are A Church Worth Attending
Come, join our intimate family of faith.
